Pink February Valentine Love

Yesterday, was Valentines Day and I thought it would be nice to arrange some of the goodies I had snagged on my recent snow bound trip to Ohio with Frannie. I could not resist this dainty little handsmocked baby dresss.  One of my earliest memories of my mother is watching her make little dresses like this from scratch and all by hand--including the pattern cut from brown paper. Looke at the meticulous smocking:

SweetAlan also surprised me with a lovely pink bouquet of roses. It immediately went into one of my vintage green vases and onto the peeled green paint kitchen table...what could be lovelier!

And look at those dainty pink shoe stretchers....I have collected these for years. Soft green ones are nice too.  And starched pink and green pocket hankies--a fresh one was pinned on my little dress everyday so I couldn't resist adding these to me collection.

It was a day perfect for indulging in massive swatches of Pink and Green, one of my favorite color combinations.  I think that I have found the perfect antidote to February SAD.  Nothing beats pretty pink hand smocked baby dresses, starched pink doiles, rose hankies and softly faded pink vintage paper ephemera to brighten the day.

Hope everyone has another day filled with Love....and Pink!
